Pukekohe win out west against Waiuku

Waiuku continued their championship wobbles yesterday when they went down to Pukekohe 14 – 28 and never really looked like being victorious. Pukekohe on the other hand played a structured game and made better use of the westerly breeze in the first half scoring 18 points, whereas Waiuku didn’t manage to cross the try line at all in the second half when they had the benefit of the breeze and low sun.

With the win Pukekohe sneak out to a 3 point lead on the Championship Points table, ahead of Waiuku and Karaka on 35 and then Ardmore Marist on 32.

Patumahoe continue their unbeaten run with victory against Karaka and move to 30 points and would appear to be the team to watch going into remaining round robin game. They will want to continue the winning next week when they host Bombay in their 125th celebrations weekend.
