Patumahoe win CMRFU Premier Semi-final against Waiuku

Maka Tatafu charges into Patumahoe defenders Neils Egelmeer, Bruce Kaino & Kane Hancy.

From starting the season with negative points Patumahoe have clawed their way back and with their win over Waiuku will contest next weeks McNamara Cup Premier Rugby final against Pukekohe at Bayer Growers Stadium.

Last years Champions Waiuku were a shadow of their former selves and will be disappointed with their performance, especially the first half effort where they failed to make the most of the conditions. It was always going to be a tough ask to battle uphill and into the breeze in the second half after trailing 9 – 12 at the break, though the rearranged back line did preform better.

Patumahoe will miss the services of  midfield general Tekori Luteru next week after he received a nasty gash to the back of his leg that I imagine required a good number of stitches  to close.
